This 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 NAS is #122 of approximately 500 North American Specification examples produced for the single model year, and it underwent a multi-year refurbishment following the current owner’s acquisition in 2018. Work involved repainting the body in Alpine White, retrimming the interior in Moorland gray upholstery, rebuilding the Rover V8 to displace 4.6L, and overhauling the five-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case along with the brake and suspension systems. The truck rides on 16″ steel wheels mounted over power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and additional equipment includes an external roll cage, a roof basket, a rear ladder, auxiliary driving lights, air conditioning, a lockable center console, and inward-facing rear jump seats. During the aforementioned refurbishment, the aluminum body panels were refinished in Alpine White, and the grille, plastic trim, windshield, side doors, badges, fender flares, headlight bezels, mirrors, lights, and door handles were replaced. Body-color 16″ steel wheels are mounted with 235/85 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a matching spare is affixed to the aftermarket swing-out rear carrier. Work performed under current ownership involved replacing the drag link, steering damper, shock absorbers, and suspension springs, ball joints, and bushings. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.
The front bucket seats and second-row bench seat were reupholstered in patterned Moorland gray cloth with vinyl sides. As part of the refurbishment, the seat foam, headliner, seatbelts, door panels, carpets, and various interior knobs and information labels were also replaced. The air conditioning system has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant, and a lockable center console with two cupholders is also fitted. A VDO analog clock along with supplementary readouts for monitoring battery voltage and oil pressure are mounted in the center of the dash. The six-digit odometer shows 258k miles, approximately 7k of which have been added under current ownership. The seller notes that 3,500 miles have been traveled since the completion of the build.
The folding inward-facing rear jump seats were also reupholstered in patterned Moorland gray cloth with vinyl sides and feature gray waterproof Land Rover covers. A rubberized Land Rover-branded mat covers the rear luggage area floor.
The Rover V8 was overhauled to displace 4.6 liters with a replacement block, crankshaft, rods, and pistons, and is noted to have retained the rest of its 3.9L factory components during work performed in November 2021 by Cerrone’s European in Redwood City, California. Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case with a locking center differential, all of which were rebuilt under current ownership. The exhaust heat shields have been replaced, and a stainless steel exhaust system has been installed.
